DART Paratransit
If you have a disability and cannot use DART Bus Routes, you may be able to use DART Paratransit. If approved, you can book a ride that comes to your door.
Who can use DART Paratransit?
If you have a disability that keeps you from being able to use DART bus routes some or all of the time, you may be able to use DART Paratransit. Most riders sign up through DART’s Bus Plus program. You can apply by filling out a form and having a qualified professional confirm you need this service.

As a Bus Plus rider, you can call to book a Paratransit trip at least one day before you plan to travel.
When it is time to travel:

A vehicle will show up at your door within a 30-minute time period.

An operator can help you get from your door into the vehicle and will secure any mobility devices.

The vehicle may stop to pick up or drop off other riders.

The vehicle will drop you off at the door of your chosen location.
Hours You Can Travel
You can ask to book a trip within these times:
Monday – Saturday
6 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Sunday
7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Where You Can Travel
Trips can start or end in the Base Zone (yellow area) or Premium Zone (gray area).
Bus Plus riders can travel in these DART member cities: Altoona, Ankeny, Bondurant, Clive, Des Moines, Johnston, Unincorporated Polk County, Urbandale, West Des Moines, and Windsor Heights.
